Dear PCC Member,
As a member-owned co-op, PCC Community Markets relies on our membership base — now over 123,000 strong! — to help direct the co-op’s future by electing qualified candidates to the Board of Trustees each year. When you cast your vote for Board candidates, you make your voice heard and play a part in guiding our co-op’s future.
On April 14, 2026, you will receive by email from Election Services Corporation, the third party that administers our elections, your unique ballot to vote in this year’s election to fill three open seats on the PCC Board. Learn more about this year’s candidates by attending a virtual meet-and-greet on April 6, 2026, or by checking out the election guide. Voting will close at 5 p.m. on April 28, 2026.
PCC’s Board of Trustees provides critical oversight of and assistance to the co-op’s leadership team in setting and achieving the co-op’s financial, operational and purpose goals. The Board participates in financial planning and budgeting; approves material changes in the co-op’s operations; monitors the results of ongoing business projects; and ensures that the co-op is functioning in line with its stated vision, mission and values.
Each year the Board and leadership team determine which skills on the Board would be most valuable to successfully navigate current and future challenges facing the co-op. Based on this evaluation, the Governance Committee of the Board identifies gaps in the Board’s existing skills and experience and targets those skills and experience when evaluating applicants for Board candidacy. This year, informed by the co-op’s current strategic priorities, concerns about the slowing retail economy and the importance of fresh products to PCC’s business, the Board and leadership team determined that candidates with executive-level experience in retail innovation and growth strategy and in grocery and/or fresh foods supply chain would be the most valuable additions to the Board.
In the current election cycle, there are three seats on the Board up for election — there is one incumbent seeking reelection, one trustee is not seeking reelection, and one trustee has reached the term limit for service. The Governance Committee, PCC’s Board chair, other Board members and our CEO interviewed six of the more than 20 applicants based on the applicants’ fit with the desired skill sets. From the pool of interviewees, the Board approved a slate of four candidates, including the one incumbent.
The Board believes that the candidates it is presenting this year have a passion for PCC, its mission, vision and values, and provide the targeted skillsets to assist the co-op in tackling strategic priorities and challenges in the upcoming years.
Elected candidates will serve a term of three years, expiring at the Annual Members’ Meeting in 2029.
Thank you,
The PCC Board of Trustees
